Uncle Jam (ジャムおじいさん Jamu Ojīsan) (“果酱叔叔”, Guǒjiàng shūshu) is a character from Sore Ike! Anpanman. He's Anpanman, Melonpanna, Rollpanna and posibily Currypanman's creator.

A bread baking expert. He's kind and warm hearted. He also makes mechas like the Anpanmanmobile. Also he's very knowledgeable.
Appearance[]
He looks a lot like Anpanman, however some of his features are diferent, he has a bit of gray hair, Fuffy eyebrows (one of the few charactcers in the show to have colored eyebrows) a mustache and his cheeks and nose are a ligther tint of red than Anpanman, probably due to his old age. He wears a white chef's hat, white shrit and pants, a white apron and bluesh gray shoes.
Personality[]
Uncle Jam is very warm and caring wating to help everyone and make all happy, not much diferent from Anpanman himself. Since he traveled a lot when young he knows about a lot of stuff, we're shown he has many books in the shelf in his room. He's not only an expert cook capable of cooking all sorts of dishes very well but an skiled mechanic who can build mechas like the Anpanmanmobile and fix robotic/machine characters.
Relationships[]
Anpanman[]
He created Anpanman and raised him, therefore Jam loves Anpanman very dearly like his own child. Since Anpanman was very young Jam encouraged him to aways do his best and what he beleves in.
Shokupanman[]
As one of the bread heros and an ally to Anpanman uncle Jam is always wiling to help Shokupanman. In the kamashibai (paper theater) verson of "Anpanman and Shokupanman" is said that Shokupanman was created by him, however this is not the case in nether the anime nor any of the manga.
Currypanman[]
Due to him also being an ally to Anpanman and a bread hero he also helps Currypanman out. In the frist episode its stated that uncle Jam made Currypanman wich is also true in the second Anpanman manga, however it was not mentioned again and Currypanman's theme song says "no one knows where he came from" so it seams like this has been retconned.
Butterko[]
It has been officaly stated that they are not related and as of now is unknown how they met but Jam and Butterko are close like famliy and deeply care for each other. An line in Akachaman's debuit episode sugests that uncle Jam knows Butterko since infancy but this was never touched upon again.
Cheese[]
Cheese is his pet dog which he's close too trough not as close as Butterko is.
Melonpanna[]
As somewhat of a father figure to her he's always there to support young Melonpanna whit watever she needs.
Rollpanna[]
Due to her evil blue heart they have to stay apart, however jam tried more than once asking Rollpanna if she wants to join along with him and the other bakery inhabitants. He seams to have somewhat of a soft spot for her as his creation.
Creampanda[]
Somewhat of an adoptive child to him, uncle Jam encourages Creampanda's habilitys just like he did with Anpanman when he was that age.
Trivia[]
- His original voice actor, Hiroshi Masuoka, passed on due to rectal cancer at age 83 on the 21st March 2020, and some years before, when he retired was replaced by Koichi Yamadera who also voices Cheese, Kamameshidon and Kabao.
- His name is also known and sometimes referred as “Mr. Jam” in English.
- Dispite his and Batako's humanlike aparence they are not humans. Acording to the Official Website's Q&A section there are no humans in Anpanman's world, with Jam and Batako being faries.
- Very ealy on the series before any animated adaptation some artworks depicted Jam smoking a pipe, for clear reasons this didnt last very long.
